Dengie Finals at Addington Manor - Date posted 11/03/2013

A cold day at Addington yesterday but a very successful one for SOHS!
In the dressage in the warm up class Holly Riley and Angel won the class with 67.56 with Millie Wogan and Harley hot on her heels with 67.50 to take second. In the Open Dengie Holly came 2nd on 66.77 picking up a qualifying ticket for the national finals. Millie Wogan came 5th on 66.12 narrowly missing a qualifying place. Ella Kennedy and Mary and Isabella Tasker and Patch just missed out on placings in the Novice Dengie but Sarah was very pleased with the tests.

Indoors out of the hail, wind and snow was the jumping. In the Dengie Novice final Annabelle Turner produced a great jump off on Jazz to pick up fourth spot and a ticket to the national finals. On her other horse Sinnbad she competed in the non qualified section and again clear in the first round. Isabella Tasker also managed a clear in the first round to jump off and pick up 6th place overall. In the non Dengie class Abbie Wogan produced a superb double clear one of only three in the whole class to pick up third place. In the 1m class we managed to field a team of Annabelle Turner on Sinnbad and Jazz . Lucy Hill on the Quesnels Shadow and Emily Martin on Humphrey. A difficult course saw very few clears but Emily and Lucy managed a double clear each with Emily picking up 2nd place and the team collecting 3rd prize. In the 1m 10 and Dengie open sadly we had no team but Lucy Quesnel and Snippet just roled one pole in the first round. Emily Martin managed to go clear and into the jump off finishing up in 4th place and collecting a ticket to the national final.
Many thanks to all the mothers who gave up their pamper day to spend in the cold and special thanks to Jane Adderley and Sarah Hawkins for looking after everyone so well.
